Job Summary
This janitorial role involves cleaning facilities to create cleaner, healthier environments by performing sweeping, mopping, polishing, trash removal, window cleaning, and moving furniture, while maintaining supplies and operating basic security/lock systems. The position requires adherence to PPE requirements, physical stamina to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs, and a reliable, punctual attitude. On-the-job training is provided; benefits (medical, 401(k), disability, life) and opportunities for advancement are available. Location: Houston, TX; schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 am–4:00 pm with possible Sunday support.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years’ experience as a custodian, janitor, or housekeeper preferred but not required
- Experience with professional janitorial services, office complexes, hotels, hospitals or schools is a plus
- Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs
- Ability to read cleaning instructions
- Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and uses
- Use of PPE (hard shoes, safety vest, hard hat)
- Maintain a positive work climate, be dependable and on time
- Schedule: Mon - Fri, 7am - 4pm; may support Sundays if needed
- On-the-job training provided for those with strong work ethic and willingness to learn
