Job Summary
Maintain specified common areas of the assigned building by mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and performing waste removal in restrooms, hallways, and other zones. Pull trash from containers as assigned and assist with table and chair setup for facility events. Work independently without direct supervision while following all safety rules and using appropriate equipment. Lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods. Schedule is 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work for periods of time without direct supervision
- Knowledge of, or willing to learn, use of tools, equipment and supplies relative to janitorial duties
- Must be able to work flexible hours
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to perform duties that frequently require bending and lifting
- Responsible for following and ensuring that all safety rules are followed
- Responsible for ensuring that appropriate safety equipment is used
- Respectful customer relationships
- Maintain records
- Sensitivity to service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
Desired Qualifications
- High School or GED
- Prior janitorial experience
- Reading
- Team-oriented and collaborative interpersonal relationships
- Organize and prioritize information
