Job Summary
Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors at the Veterans Affairs Palo Health Care System by performing daily cleaning of public restrooms, hallways, lobbies, waiting areas, elevators, stairwells, administration offices, and recreational facilities. Execute floor care tasks including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and buffing; vacuum, spot clean, and shampoo carpets; dust and polish surfaces; empty waste cans; and transport cardboard to recycling. Refill paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and hand sanitizer; stage soiled linens; and perform deep cleaning as needed. Requires 1-2 years of recent janitorial experience, fluency in English, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Must pass background investigation and security check.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 Years of recent Janitorial experience, preferably in a hospital or clinic setting
- Must be fluent in English and shall be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate effectively in English
- Must undergo and pass a thorough background investigation and an additional government security check
- Must be in good physical health and able to work in patient care areas without risk to the patients
- *Must be able to work weekends & holidays as needed
