Job Summary
On-call Janitor responsible for cleaning in commercial and medical buildings. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting of common areas; disinfecting high-touch surfaces; emptying trash and disposing of medical waste; restocking soap, paper towels, and toilet paper; monitoring and maintaining cleaning-supply inventory; assisting with setup and cleanup of meeting rooms and event spaces; collaborating with maintenance teams to address cleanliness and safety; reporting maintenance needs; following safety protocols and handling cleaning chemicals. Requires knowledge of cleaning techniques, infection-control practices, strong attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment
- Understanding of infection control practices and the importance of maintaining a sanitary environment
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
- Physical stamina to lift/bend/stand for extended periods
- Flexibility to work during day and evening shifts
