Job Summary
Maintain assigned locations clean by sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors, cleaning rooms, hallways, and restrooms, and mixing chemicals per Material Safety Data Sheets. Operate equipment including floor buffers, lawn mowers, and snow removal tools to service grounds, parking lots, and walkways. Move furniture, wash surfaces, empty waste baskets, and document completed work. Report to the project manager at West Texas Border Patrol sites in Marfa, Alpine, and Sanderson, Texas. Morning shifts run 6am to 2pm or 7am to 3pm. Valid driver's license and criminal/drug screening required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year of prior experience working as a Janitor
- Ability to use general cleaning equipment such as a mop, broom, vacuum, duster, pail, buffer etc.
- Ability to use maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and blowers
- Ability to use general cleaning equipment as outlined in procedures to ensure proper usage and safety
- Must be able to read and follow proper dilution rates for cleaning chemicals provided
- Must be able to maintain assigned equipment in satisfactory and working condition
- Ability to read and understand the 'Material Safety Data Sheets' (MSDS) for all chemicals and solutions used during working hours
- Ability to follow policies and procedures in place to perform duties assigned
- Ability to work as a team member and independently to complete daily tasks
- Ability to assist and communicate with others as needed and establish effective working relationships
- Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening
- Ability to climb, bend, squat, push, lift and carry objects ranging from 10-50 pounds
- Ability to walk up to 90% of the time
- Possess valid driver's license
- Maintain good driving record
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s) if required
Desired Qualifications
- Any combination of education and training which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work (in lieu of 1 year of prior experience)
- Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays
