Job Summary
Janitor position in Springfield, VA for a government contract. Under the Custodial Foreman's supervision, duties include sweeping/mopping hallways, emptying trash, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, waxing and buffing floors, cleaning glass/windows, washing walls, snow removal from outside steps and sidewalks, polishing fixtures, vacuuming, mixing cleaning solutions, maintaining equipment, and notifying supervisor when supplies are needed. Hours are 7:00 am–4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The role requires passing criminal history information background checks and drug screening, and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. Essential physical requirements include standing most of the time, lifting/carrying 50 pounds, climbing, bending, and reaching. Wage is $22.28 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Three to six months training or experience in custodial work or ability to learn essential functions
- Ability to pass security clearance for designated contracts
- Criminal history background check and drug screening
- Must be able to obtain and maintain government security clearance
- Proof of disability may be required (set aside position)
- Stand for long periods; lift/carry 50 pounds; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach; see colors for safety
