Janitor/Custodian - White Salmon

Job Summary
Conduct custodial duties to ensure the White Salmon Library is maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner. Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and dispensers. Refill soap dispensers and restock paper products, empty garbage and recycling, and dust surfaces including desks, chairs, counters, fixtures, and cubicles. Clean kitchens, sinks, countertops, and outside of appliances as required by contract. Secure storage areas and offices after services, maintain an adequate supply of cleaning materials, and report safety violations, injuries, incidents, or equipment repairs to the Night Janitorial Lead. Perform all daily, weekly, and monthly duties, support special projects, and follow safety protocols when using cleaning supplies and chemicals.

- Valid Driver License
- Reliable Transportation
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, operate equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be comfortable working at heights and able to safely climb and work from ladders
- Ability to withstand odors emitted by cleaning materials and chemicals while using proper PPE
- The successful candidate must acknowledge the risks associated with hazardous chemicals and be willing to review Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to identify hazards to determine appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) prior to use
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have proven working experience as Cleaner/Janitor
- Must be able to respond and act quickly
- Must have strong communication and multitasking skills
- Must have knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies
- Must have a smart device
- Must be able to work in the US
- Must be able to pass a background check
