Job Summary
Maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions in designated municipal buildings by performing routine cleaning tasks, seasonal snow removal, and other duties as assigned. Operate cleaning equipment while lifting approximately 50 pounds and work independently with little supervision. Demonstrate courteous communication with employee groups and the general public, and utilize Microsoft applications as needed. Schedule shifts may occur weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays, with relief required as needed. Candidates must hold a valid G driver's license, current First Aid CPR certificate, and a Grade 12 Diploma with one year of related experience.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 Diploma
- One (1) year previous experience in related field
- Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds (cleaning supplies, equipment, snow removal)
- Highly developed communication skills both oral and written
- Ability to operate and use Microsoft applications
- Demonstrated courteous and polite manner when dealing with employee groups and general public
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision
- Current First Aid CPR certificate (or ability to obtain within three months)
- Must have and maintain valid G driver's license
- Criminal background check and driver's abstract required prior to start date at candidates' expense
- Availability for scheduled shifts and relief as required
- Availability for shifts occurring on weekdays, weekends, evenings and holidays
