Job Summary
Conduct cleaning and disinfecting of transit station areas including entrances, concourses, platforms, and washrooms. Sweep, mop, and spot clean high-touch surfaces such as doors, railings, and faregates. Replenish washroom supplies and complete required inspections. Operate auto-scrubber and auto-sweeper equipment as needed. Perform prioritized work order completion and report issues like graffiti or hazards to supervisors for removal. Execute periodic deep-cleaning tasks and handle garbage collection and liner changing. Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across public transit stations at 85 Industry St, York, ON.
Required Qualifications
- Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking)
- A clear criminal background check
- Comfortable standing/walking for extended periods in a public-facing environment
- Comfortable using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs and perform physical tasks (bending, pushing/pulling equipment)
Desired Qualifications
- Cleaning/janitorial experience (minimum 6 months preferred)
- Floor care experience (machine scrubbing and detailing)
