Job Summary
Maintain facility order and discipline while managing detainee intake, fingerprinting, photographing, and welfare checks. Process detainees in and out, secure personal belongings, and prepare legal documents for transfers. Clean the facility, ensure equipment maintenance, and answer public inquiries or take criminal offense reports. Provide dispatch support by handling phone messages, faxes, and CAD system entries. Adhere to attendance, safety, and dress code policies. Requires high school diploma, age 18 or older, and proficiency with computers and communication equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of standard broadcasting procedures and rules
- Knowledge of standard radio or telephone communications receiving and transmitting equipment
- Knowledge of geographic features and streets of the City
- Knowledge of department procedures and policies
- Knowledge of procedures of other user agencies
- Knowledge of public safety classifications codes
- Knowledge of computer commands
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to use computers, cameras and other electronic devices in accordance with their duties
- Ability to operate all communication equipment and office equipment quickly and accurately
- Ability to instruct new employees
