JAGS Designer Drafter - Steel Fabrication

Job Summary
Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to perform quantity takeoffs and prepare accurate cost estimates for fabrication and installation projects. Solicit and evaluate supplier quotations while maintaining estimating databases and historical cost records. Coordinate preparation and review of shop drawings, working with engineers and customers to ensure drawing accuracy and manage revisions. Schedule material shipments, plan transportation to job sites, and resolve delivery issues. Procure raw materials and hardware, issue purchase orders, and negotiate pricing with vendors. Maintain project documentation and drawing records while monitoring inventory requirements. Manage multiple projects and deadlines using Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in construction, structural steel, bridge construction, or related industries
- Experience with estimating and drafting coordination
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, engineering plans, and specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with steel railing, highway infrastructure, structural steel, or miscellaneous metals projects
- Knowledge of DOT specifications and public infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with fabrication and installation processes
- Experience with CAD software
