Job Summary
Manage a team of engineers and technicians to oversee scheduling, project planning, and budget for injection mold design and optimization. Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives using lean tools to ensure tool portfolio reliability and cost efficiency. Collaborate with development services, vendors, and cross-functional teams to resolve post-production quality issues and introduce new tools while adhering to cGMP and EHS policies. Drive project management across functional groups to meet customer delivery and productivity objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related disciplines
- Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills
- Minimum 5 years tooling maintenance in injection molding environment
- Minimum 2+ years of supervisory/leadership experience in tool shop
- Level 7 or 8 HETAC Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design, Mold Engineering, Materials Science or related fields
- 10 years or more of injection mold design work experience
- At least 5 years of team management experience
- Proficiency in Creo or similar 3D design software
- Familiarity with PDMLink or other PLM systems
- Complete injection mold design project experience
- Mastery of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and CAD drawing standards
- Ability to independently complete complex mold design
- Strong problem analysis skills using 8D methods for root cause tracing and improvement
- Fluent English speaking ability
- Experience with overseas business trips
- Familiarity with 3C product mold design
- Understanding of injection molding processes and mold flow analysis
- Knowledge of ESI (Engineering Simulation)
Desired Qualifications
- Recognized tooling apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
- Management or relevant supervisory management qualification
- Strong tooling and product design skills with a working knowledge of 2D/3D CAD ProE
- Excellent organizational, systematic root cause problem solving and communication skills
- Motivated, enthusiastic, self-directed and results driven
- Ability to project manage across functional teams involving tooling vendors and suppliers
- Knowledge of Lean continuous improvement techniques including statistics and DOE
- Knowledge of polymer materials and injection molding processing
- High level of cGMP in ISO13485 environment, safe working practices and awareness
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project and Asset management systems
- Master's degree
- Background in consumer electronics, medical devices or automotive industry mold design
- Apple product related experience
- Background in overseas business trips
- Ability to adapt to cross-cultural work environments
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Familiarity with 3C field product mold design
- Understanding of injection molding processes and mold flow analysis
- Proficiency in ESI
