Job Summary
Full-time IV Pharmacy Technician in the Inpatient Pharmacy at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center (Woodbridge, VA) performing sterile compounding in the IV room, under supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Responsibilities include clinical pharmacy care delivery, training of new employees, filling and delivering medications, ensuring adequate supplies, triaging questions outside technician scope, operating pharmacy equipment, maintaining quality assurance, and participating in clinical initiatives. Requires a pharmacy technician license in the state of practice and CPhT certification; involves rotating 8-hour shifts, including evenings and every other weekend; prior IV/sterile compounding experience and hospital/EPIC systems experience are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
- CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)
- 2 Years Pharmacy Experience (Required)
- 1 Year IV or Sterile Compounding Experience (Preferred)
- Inpatient Pharmacy Tech Experience (Preferred)
- Pharmacy Technician certification and licensure as applicable by state
