Job Summary
The IV Pharmacy Technician works under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, responsible for filling prescriptions, preparing Sterile Compounding medications, entering data, and maintaining compliance with pharmacy regulations. Key responsibilities include cleaning the Sterile Compounding room, compounding sterile orders, assisting with communication to care facilities, and maintaining emergency drug kits. Required skills include data entry, analytical abilities, basic computer proficiency, and strong organizational capabilities. Applicants must possess a high school diploma, state-required pharmacy technician certification, and at least one year of experience in IV pharmacy operations.
Required Qualifications
- Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations and state of practice
- Minimum of one (1) year working as an IV pharmacy technician required (long-term care pharmacy preferred)
- Experience working with medications, IV’s, and filling prescriptions required
- Basic math and analytical skills
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
Desired Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge of brand name/generic medications
- Order entry and insurance billing experience
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work various shifts and days
- Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required and/or expected
