IV Pharmacy Technician - 2nd Shift

Job Summary
Clean and maintain the sterile compounding room per USP 797 guidelines while preparing sterile medications and filling prescriptions for long-term care facilities and high-risk patients. Stage, prep, and fill orders in a Class 100 clean room under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, ensuring compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and Polaris quality standards. Manage data entry, maintain and account for IV pumps, replenish emergency drug kits, and assist pharmacists with calling care facilities. Work various shifts including weekends and holidays as needed, adhering to safety protocols and departmental policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations and state of practice
- Minimum of one (1) year working as an IV pharmacy technician
- long-term care pharmacy preferred
- Knowledge of brand name/generic medications
- Experience working with medications, IV's, and filling prescriptions
- Order entry and insurance billing experience
- Data entry skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Good organizational skills

- Knowledge of Long Term and Post- Acute Care
- Stage, Prep, and fill orders for residents at long-term care facilities and high-risk pregnant women
- Compound Sterile Compounding orders in a Class 100 clean room
- Responsible for data entry
- Assist pharmacist with calling care facilities
- Maintain, clean and account for pumps
- File, answer phones, and stock areas in the IV department
- Work with Lead IV Technician to maintain a clean/safe work environment, check equipment for calibration, safety, and cleanliness
- Replenish and maintain Emergency Drug Kits (EDK)
- Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA
- Communicate with Pharmacist, Supervisor, or Lead Technician about any concerns regarding USP 797 and Operations
- Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code
- Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required and/or expected
