Job Summary
Direct service and support to students receiving Deaf and Hard of Hearing services within a school district; provide and/or lead IEP planning meetings; implement specially designed instruction using CAIU curricula; collect data, monitor progress, and prepare progress reports; collaborate with CAIU, school districts, and agency personnel; supervise designated educational paraprofessional(s) and/or personal care assistants; manage schedules and documentation; assist with personal care duties as appropriate (toileting, feeding, positioning, dressing, movement); ensure compliance with FERPA/HIPAA regulations; prepare lesson plans and instructional materials; arrange and participate in evaluations/reevaluation meetings, diagnostic reviews, and case staffing; maintain records and serve in building-related duties (lunch/recess supervision, bus loading/unloading); develop course of study aligned to graduation requirements; support overall student progress and program operations; maintain professional communications with supervisors and Educational Consultants.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- PA Instructional I or II certification in Special Education, Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Blind/Visual Impairments, Academic Core Instructional Certifications, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, or Orientation and Mobility; must hold PA Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) status
- Full certification in Safe Crisis Management (SCM), Safety Care, or other restraint management system as required by the assignment
- Strong verbal and written language skills
- Familiarity with Special Education rules and regulations
- Ability to build rapport with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) and related software
