Job Summary
Windows Systems Engineer needed to design, deploy, and support enterprise Windows-based systems in SpaceX’s security-conscious, air-gapped environment. The role requires collaboration with IT admins and engineers to gather requirements, build high-availability, scalable systems, implement automated tooling and scripting, and apply SpaceX standards and change control. The candidate should have strong experience with Windows servers, Active Directory/Kerberos, Linux, networking, and scripting, plus familiarity with enterprise Microsoft technologies (DNS, DHCP, IIS, MS-SQL, NPS) and DevOps/configuration-management concepts. An active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required, with willingness to travel domestically and globally (<10%) as needed and to work extended hours/weekends. The position is located in Hawthorne, CA, US, and includes comprehensive benefits and compensation in the $130k-$160k/year range, with potential differential for active clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline
- 5+ years of experience in IT systems or 7+ years in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of experience with Windows servers in physical and virtualized enterprise environments
- 3+ years of experience with Active Directory, Kerberos, and multi-platform authentication/identification environments
- 1+ year of scripting experience
- 1+ year of networking experience and Linux
