Job Summary
IT Technician provides hands-on technology support for Drake-Williams Steel users and systems, assisting with software development, automation, reporting, and business process improvement. Responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues; setting up and maintaining workstations, monitors, mobile devices, phones, and related equipment; supporting camera systems and technology infrastructure; assisting with software development projects, testing, documentation, and deployment; utilizing GitLab, Visual Studio Code, and AI-assisted tools; creating reports, dashboards, workflows, and software solutions; maintaining technical documentation and training materials; inventory management of equipment; collaborating with users to improve efficiency through technology; and opportunities to grow into roles such as application development, desktop support, business analysis, or systems administration. Requirements include strong interest in technology, basic understanding of hardware/software/networking, good communication, ability to learn development concepts, familiarity with Microsoft Office, and exposure to programming, scripting, databases, and AI tools. The position is full-time, non-exempt, based in Omaha, NE, USA, with standard work expectations and potential for overtime/travel as needed.
