Job Summary
Administer, maintain, and optimize RiverValley's technology infrastructure, including Windows, Linux, and application systems. Install and configure servers, peripherals, and services; develop installation procedures; and maintain system standards. Perform daily system monitoring, security checks, and backup operations, while applying OS patches and upgrades. Troubleshoot hardware and software failures, repair systems, and provide Tier III support. Manage applications, tune performance, and conduct periodic capacity planning. Work evenings and weekends as needed; no regular travel or budget responsibility. This role supports organizational goals through continuous improvement and infrastructure enhancements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science
- Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Linux and Microsoft
- Four to six years system administration experience
- Responsibility for training, instruction, setting the work pace, and possibly evaluating performance
- Interpret and/or discuss information with others, which involves terminology or concepts not familiar to many people
- Regularly provide advice and recommend actions involving rather complex issues
- May resolve problems within established practices
- Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice
- No regular travel required
