Job Summary
IT Systems Administrator responsible for infrastructure and operations including end user services, systems engineering, networking and security, telephony, and workforce productivity. Provides daily technology support across multiple locations and a remote user base, with hybrid on-site and remote work at the Schaumburg Innovation Center. Responsible for installing, configuring, and distributing hardware/software for onboarding, managing inventory, maintaining servers/storage/backups, administering systems and network configurations (DNS, DHCP, AD), firewalls, and peripherals, and collaborating with vendors and staff on projects. Develops documentation, supports metrics for hardware/software licensing and asset management, and ensures data protection and security. May require on-call availability outside business hours. Familiarity with Google Workspace, VPN, VOIP, wireless networking, and virtualization, plus knowledge of IT operations best practices and disaster recovery. Maintains a customer-centric approach, strong communication, teamwork, and a willingness to adapt to changing responsibilities. Location is hybrid with on-site presence approximately 1–2 days per week at the Schaumburg center, with flexibility for additional on-site days; salary range is $70K–$85K with benefit enrollment and equal opportunity employer statements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or similar position
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace, Windows server (DNS, DHCP, Active Directory), VPN, switches, firewalls; wireless networking, VOIP systems, security management and virtualization
- Experience implementing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including knowledge of security, storage, data protection and disaster recovery protocols
- A positive, customer centric attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a strong aptitude for identifying problems and areas of improvement
- Flexible to evolving responsibilities and a fluid work environment
- Ability to learn quickly, work independently and take ownership of tasks, processes, and solutions
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to support scheduled upgrades, maintenance windows and production incidents
