Job Summary
Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices while maintaining plant networks, switches, and connectivity to ensure reliable uptime. Manage user accounts, security permissions, and group policies in Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments. Support end-users with software installations, system access, and hardware configuration, including setup of iPads and printer deployment. Document all service requests, incidents, and resolutions in the ticketing system and escalate complex issues as needed. Assist with deployment of IT projects, system upgrades, and cybersecurity initiatives while collaborating with corporate IT teams to maintain refinery compliance. Ensure backup systems, antivirus protection, and data recovery procedures remain functional. Serve as the primary on-site contact for IT support requests at a major refinery facility in Krotz Springs, LA.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 2-5 years of IT support experience
- Experience in a manufacturing, chemical, or refinery setting
- Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory administration
- Network troubleshooting (LAN/WAN, switches, routers, cabling)
- Experience with ServiceNow, Remedy, or similar ticketing tools
- Familiarity with VPN, remote desktop tools, and mobile device management (MDM)
- Ability to wear a respirator and pass respiratory fit testing, if required
- Must be available for approximately 60%-100% of shift outdoors
- Must be prepared for a wide range of temperatures
- Must be prepared for exposure to chemical vapors, high level of noise or heat that may require PPE
- Must be prepared for 12-hour shifts during Turnaround
- Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to push or pull heavy weights
- Must be able to ride a bicycle and climb ladders
- Must be a member of Emergency Response Team (depending on assignment)
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of industrial control networks or process automation interfaces
- CompTIA A+ certification
- Network+ certification
- Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCP/MCSA) certification
