Job Summary
Deliver daily classroom instruction, administer assessments, and provide one-on-one tutoring to adult students preparing for entry-level IT careers. Manage student behavior, enforce program policies, and collaborate with the Program team to establish individualized achievement plans. Maintain Salesforce and Canvas records with grades, certifications, and progress notes while creating and submitting training curricula for approval. Advise students on career tracks and recommend employment opportunities through Business Solutions. Order books, materials, and exam vouchers in advance of training. Participate in extracurricular activities, employer visits, and professional events. Maintain professional teacher education requirements and engage in continuous curriculum evaluation and development.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of teaching experience
- At least 1 year of IT Work experience
- Current A+ certification (Current Edition 1001-1002 Series)
- Google IT Support Professional Certificate
- Network+ Certification (Current edition N10-007)
- Experience implementing network technologies in business environments with a focus on the deployment of TCP/IP suite protocols
- Advanced knowledge of Windows, Apple, and Linux Operating Systems; this includes both end-user and server versions
- Thorough understanding of security concepts, models, and standards; experience with implementation in business environments
- Meet professional teacher education requirements of school and state
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with curriculum, syllabus development and lesson planning a plus
- Experience with methods and strategies to explain and clarify complex topics to students with diverse experiences and educational backgrounds
- Ability to connect real-life work scenarios to the teaching environment
- Ability to help students apply professional skills to their delivery and participation in the classroom
- Experience with student assessment; and talent to continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum
- Ability to analyze and synthesize technical information
- Exceptional capacity to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to continuous changes in curriculum to stay current in the industry
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
- 3 years + IT work experience
- Experience teaching technical courses
- Experience teaching remotely
- Experience in workforce development
- Linux production experience
- Knowledge of cloud services technologies i.e. AWS, Azure, OpenStack
- Additional Industry certifications are a plus
