Job Summary
The IT Support Specialist provides first-level technical assistance to staff across the organization in an in-person role within a healthcare IT context. Responsibilities include supporting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals; assisting users with account management, software, hardware, and network connectivity; supporting electronic health record (EHR) systems under supervision; creating and managing IT service tickets; installing and updating hardware and software; handling user account setup and password resets; ensuring HIPAA-compliant data privacy and security in IT activities including remote access; escalating complex issues to senior IT staff; participating in system upgrades and IT projects; monitoring network performance and maintaining documentation. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS or equivalent experience, strong customer service and communication skills, and willingness to learn healthcare systems and compliance; travel to AMH sites as needed; primarily office or clinical environment with potential after-hours or on-call support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows and/or macOS), and common office applications (Outlook, Microsoft Office)
- Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to follow procedures and work in a regulated environment
- Willingness to learn healthcare systems, terminology, and compliance requirements
- Preferred: Internship, coursework, or hands-on experience in IT support or help desk environments
- Familiarity with network infrastructure components (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points) and healthcare applications or EHR systems
- Basic knowledge of system administration on Windows platforms, networking concepts, and cybersecurity principles
- Relevant certifications

- Professionalism and discretion with sensitive information
