Job Summary
Provide tier-2 technical support for building monitoring and control (BMC) devices, IT infrastructure, and application servers, escalating issues as needed. Assist in the physical installation and troubleshooting of network components, workstations, and servers. Act as the IT liaison and technical point of contact for vendors, property managers, and on-site personnel. Coordinate BMC integration projects by participating in planning, documenting requirements, and responding onsite. Survey BMC systems and network infrastructure across commercial buildings. Modify network diagrams using Microsoft Visio and maintain supporting documentation. Travel frequently within Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming to support client buildings.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in tier-2 IT support (remote and on-site)
- Hands-on experience with physical hardware, including racking, stacking, and installation of network components
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems
- Solid understanding of networking technologies, including TCP/IP, NetBios, DHCP, WINS, DNS, and LDAP
- Working knowledge of Windows IIS web services
- Working knowledge of MS SQL Server
- Working knowledge of server hardware and uninterrupted power supply (UPS)
- Experience with ServiceNow and ITIL environments
- Excellent communications skills and the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical individuals (verbal and written)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with building automation and metering systems
- Must be able to walk distances within large buildings/campuses and lift 25 lbs
- Must be a U.S. citizen
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with building control systems and building automation and control (BAS) communication protocols (e.g., BACnet MSTP, BACnet IP, Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus MSTP, LonWorks, and Fox)
- Active Public Trust
- Working proficiency with MS Visio
- Experience with SolarWinds
