Job Summary
IT Specialist responsible for the effective operation of IT services and support across the organization. The IT Specialist serves as a technical expert for the development, implementation, management, and support of systems and networks. The IT specialist plans and carries out exciting, complex assignments and develops new methods and approaches in a wide variety of IT specialties. They evaluate new and enhanced approaches to deliver IT services; test and optimize the functionality of systems, networks, and data; and define technical requirements. The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for providing various forms of computer-related technical assistance and improving the efficiency of the work of the staff through the use of technology. Duties include assisting users with account setup, password resets and basic system configurations; providing first-level technical support to end-users; assisting in installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software components; performing routine checks and updates on systems; identifying and resolving technical issues; collaborating with senior IT team members to troubleshoot problems; creating and maintaining documentation for IT procedures; updating and expanding the IT knowledge base; working with team on IT projects; participating in training to stay current; assisting in implementing and maintaining security measures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches; following security best practices; performing other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Basic understanding of IT concepts and principles
- Familiarity with hardware components and peripherals
- Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Exposure to troubleshooting common software applications
- Good communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
- A desire to help others
- Must currently be eligible to work in the United States of America
- High School diploma or GED
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field
- Experience with Mobile Device Management
- Experience with Active Directory
- Experience with Networking (DHCP, DNS,etc.)
- Experience with Windows Server operation system
- Experience with Microsoft 365 account administration
