Job Summary
IT Specialist to support a federal contract in Ft. Meade, MD. Responsibilities include establishing, scheduling, operating, and troubleshooting VTC systems (Microsoft Teams, Cisco, Zoom, Polycom); providing technical support during routine operations and emergencies; coordinating VTC/teleconference events for leadership, operational teams, and external stakeholders; maintaining display systems, knowledge walls, dashboards, and video distribution; monitoring system health and identifying outages; coordinating escalation of hardware, software, network, and communications issues; supporting a 24x7 operational environment and after-hours requirements; and maintaining security clearance TS/SCI with CI Poly. Preferred qualifications include experience in federal government or mission-critical environments, ITIL/process knowledge, networking/AV technology familiarity, and relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of experience supporting information technology operations, communications systems, operations centers, network operations centers (NOC), security operations centers (SOC), help desk operations, or similar technical environments.
- Experience establishing, scheduling, operating, and troubleshooting Video Teleconference (VTC) systems, including Microsoft Teams, Cisco, Zoom, Polycom, or similar collaboration platforms.
- Experience providing technical support during routine operations and emergency response activities while maintaining situational awareness of operational environments.
- Experience performing voice, video, and communications support functions within an operations center or mission support environment.
- Experience configuring, operating, and maintaining voice and video conferencing systems, message routing capabilities, and communications equipment.
- Experience maintaining and supporting display systems, knowledge walls, dashboards, video distribution systems, and associated technologies.
- Experience scheduling, coordinating, and facilitating VTC and teleconference events for leadership, operational teams, and external stakeholders.
- Experience monitoring system health and determining operational status, including identifying outages, degradations, and service interruptions.
- Experience performing basic troubleshooting and coordinating escalation of hardware, software, network, and communications issues.
- Experience initiating outage notifications, submitting trouble tickets, documenting incidents, and following established SOPs and operational procedures.
- Experience supporting a 24x7 operational environment and responding to emergency or after-hours requirements.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree or bachelor's degree in information technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Network Administration, Telecommunications, or a related field is preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting Federal Government, DoD, Intelligence Community, or other mission-critical operations environments; Familiarity with ITIL processes, incident management, and service desk operations; Knowledge of networking fundamentals, telecommunications systems, and audio/visual technologies; Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ or equivalent.
