Job Summary
The IT Specialist is responsible for monitoring, maintenance, configuration, and ensuring the reliable operation of IT systems including servers, network infrastructure and business applications. Day to day responsibilities include responding to tier 2 helpdesk tickets, troubleshooting network/server/infrastructure issues, performing preventative maintenance and updates, managing backup/recovery systems and documentation, assisting with configuration/installation of network/server/voice/security infrastructure, managing Exchange Online and related email services, creating/reviewing IT documentation, and collaborating with a global team. The role requires experience in a multinational manufacturing environment, proficiency with O365, Active Directory, VPN, and virtualization, and the ability to work independently with good communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Experience supporting IT needs of a multinational manufacturing environment
- Ability to perform basic network and server troubleshooting
- Experience working with a multi-site Active Directory environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft O365
- Experience monitoring and maintaining backup and recovery systems and documentation
- Skills with troubleshooting VPN, wireless, security, and telecommunications
- Experience working with virtualization is a plus
- Ability and willingness to work with global team
- Possess basic project management skills and ability to work independently
- Team player with good verbal and written communication skills
- Must be flexible and willing to adapt to changing requirements and schedules, including occasional evening/weekend work as job duties require
- S in Computer Science or equivalent required. Professional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
- Minimum of 2-4 years of IT experience, networking and server experience preferred
- Cisco Network and/or Microsoft certifications are a plus
