Job Summary
Identifies, gathers and reviews requirements for wired/wireless LANs; conducts site surveys to design network layouts and determine device placement; ensures operation and maintenance of IT and network infrastructure; installs/configures/maintains servers and networks; contributes to security, performance and availability of the IT environment; performs test/evaluation of wired/wireless networks against thresholds; diagnoses and resolves network issues; implements and operates network applications for management/orchestration in production, lab, staging and test environments; manages IP space in coordination with other systems; meets with customers to report status of orchestration and network health; supports 24/7 operations with shift/weekend requirements; collaborates to develop base configuration files for new devices; develops/updates technical documentation; Aruba equipment experience a plus; position requires DoD/US citizenship and compliance with 8570 IAT; strong written communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- High School plus specialized training and 8+ years of experience
- DoD Secret Clearance or Public Trust clearance is required
- DoD 8570 IAT Level I or Level II compliant
- CCNA or CWNP certifications (or equivalent) a plus
- Experience in general networking and network administration, upgrade and operations
- Good technical writing skills with experience producing reports in Microsoft Office (Visio)
- Knowledge of TR, CAT6, crimps, wiring standards; BICSI certification a plus
- US citizenship required to access sensitive information; drug-free workplace; E-Verify
- Experience supporting 24/7 operations; ability to meet shift and weekend requirements
- Aruba networking equipment experience a plus
- Must be able to drive and climb ladder (10 ft) and lift 40 lbs
- Ability to work with DoD information systems and meet eligibility requirements to access sensitive information
