IT Solutions Engineer (Java)

Job Summary
Define and drive solution architecture for enterprise applications while leading technical design activities across distributed teams. Contribute to the modernisation and evolution of complex legacy systems, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and high performing. Collaborate closely with developers, architects, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to support delivery throughout the full software development lifecycle and promote engineering best practices. This hands-on role combines solution architecture, software engineering expertise, and technical leadership within a major enterprise transformation programme in a highly regulated environment. Work alongside experienced international teams to influence technical direction and shape future architecture decisions.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years' experience in enterprise software development and architecture
- Strong Java background (Java 11/17, Java EE / Jakarta EE)
- Database design and development expertise (PostgreSQL)
- Eclipse RCP, SWT and JFace
- WildFly Application Server
- Enterprise software architecture and solution design
- Legacy system modernisation
- Object-oriented design, design patterns and engineering best practices
- Experience working within complex enterprise environments
- Must be able to travel to Dresden for initial onboarding (2–3 week stay)
- Must be available for business travel to Dresden approximately once per quarter
