Job Summary
Monitor enterprise systems, networks, and data across corporate and manufacturing environments to detect threats, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance. Implement security controls by working closely with IT and OT teams to strengthen the organization's overall security posture. Utilize hands-on security technologies and monitoring platforms to protect systems while maintaining awareness of compliance frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2, GDPR, and HIPAA. This onsite role in Houston requires 2+ years of IT security experience and supports the protection of critical infrastructure through daily threat detection and incident response activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of IT security experience or related IT operations role with security exposure
- Hands-on familiarity with network and endpoint security technologies
- Experience using security monitoring, logging, or reporting platforms
- Knowledge of fundamental security practices in networks, cloud, and endpoints
- Entry-level or associate-level security or network certifications (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CCNA Security)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to clearly communicate technical issues to IT colleagues and business users
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow in a security-focused role
- Attention to detail and accountability in following processes
Desired Qualifications
- Awareness of compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA)
- Additional certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH)
