Job Summary
The IT Security Analyst role combines cybersecurity and physical security responsibilities to protect the Town of Natick and Natick Public Schools’ digital infrastructure and campuses. Responsibilities include proactive threat assessments, incident response, and risk mitigation, ensuring FERPA/CIPA compliance, conducting regular phishing campaigns, and promoting cybersecurity awareness. The position requires experience in IT operations within educational/public-sector settings, awareness of municipal and school data privacy laws, collaboration with law enforcement and school resource officers, and the ability to manage security projects and vendor relationships.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of IT operations and/or security-related role (physical and/or cyber)
- Knowledge of security frameworks (CIS Critical Security Controls, NIST Cybersecurity Framework)
- Incident response procedures
- Familiarity with K-12 education compliance (FERPA, CIPA)
- Familiarity with municipal operations (CJIS, police/fire/libraries)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Must pass a comprehensive background check
