Job Summary
IT Sales Consultant is responsible for generating net-new business through outbound prospecting and closing managed IT agreements with small and mid-market organizations. This quota-carrying role focuses on building pipeline, leading business-focused discovery conversations, and managing the full sales cycle. You will create opportunities, develop relationships, and drive revenue growth through new client acquisition. Key duties include outbound outreach, discovery calls with business owners and executives, positioning managed IT services in terms of business outcomes, managing the full sales cycle from initial outreach through closed agreements, maintaining a healthy pipeline (3–5x quota coverage), creating and presenting proposals, handling objections, collaborating with internal technical and onboarding teams, and ensuring smooth client transitions.
Required Qualifications
- Skills: Executive-level communication with business owners and decision-makers
- Strong consultative discovery skills that uncover business pain, risk, and financial impact, IT budget, and decision-making process
- Proven ability to generate qualified meetings through outbound prospecting
- Ability to connect technical solutions to business outcomes
- Ability to network with cross-departmental salespeople in order to both gain leads and give leads to foster mutual success
- Experience: Proven track record of achieving quota in a B2B sales role with outbound prospecting responsibility
- Experience managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through close
- Attitude & Work Ethic: High ownership mentality with accountability for pipeline generation and results
- Resilience in outbound-driven, rejection-heavy environments
- Results: Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Core Habits: Maintains daily outbound prospecting cadence regardless of pipeline status
- Demonstrates ability to consistently build professional relationships through networking, community involvement, and strategic outreach
- Preferred Qualifications: Skills & Capabilities: Experience handling objections in competitive managed IT or cybersecurity sales environments
- Experience with Sandler Sales System training and principles
