IT Program Assistant

Job Summary
Provide first response technical support to staff by installing software on desktop operating systems, setting up computer equipment and peripherals, and handling audio/visual and printer issues. Optimize desktop computers, organize spare hardware inventory, and document technical issues while researching solutions for Google Workspace, wireless networks, and video calls. Assist the IT team on small projects and tasks as needed. Occasionally travel locally to provide on-premise support at offsite education programs in the City of Chicago. This role supports Ravinia's mission to develop diverse audiences through its Reach Teach Play® community engagement and Steans Institute training programs, serving tens of thousands of students and musicians across its 36-acre park and three Chicago locations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Experience with Windows and/or Apple computer hardware and software
- Experience using web-based applications
- Prior work experience
- Able to manage tasks efficiently while adhering to organizational procedures and standards
- Customer service skills
- Research and problem-solving
- Ability to collaborate and work on a small team
- Perform tasks independently across a physical campus environment
- Comfortable supporting remote users
- Must occasionally be available outside regular working hours to assist with IT projects or emergencies
Desired Qualifications
- Some work experience supporting Windows, MacOS and iOS operating systems
- Troubleshooting end-user issues related to Google Workspace, wireless networks, video calls, printers, and copiers
- Some experience with help desk ticketing systems
- Windows Active Directory
