Job Summary
As an IT-OT Linux Engineer, you will work with cloud-connected edge platforms, focusing on building and maintaining Linux platform images that are stable and easy to upgrade. Your responsibilities include using immutable root file system concepts, managing systemd services for predictable application behavior, running applications within containers using tools like Podman, and automating tasks with shell scripting. You will engage in a Git-based workflow, handle real-world constraints such as low bandwidth and intermittent connectivity, and collaborate with security and cloud engineers to integrate systems. Your work has tangible real-world impacts, requiring in-depth Linux understanding and innovative problem-solving in edge environments.
Required Qualifications
- Experienced with Linux system administration
- Comfortable with systemd and containers on Linux (Podman)
- Proficient in shell scripting
- Experience working with Git
- Curiosity or experience with IT/OT or embedded like environments
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with the Red Hat family (RHEL, CentOS, Fedora)
- Working with resource constrained systems
- Experience with cellular connectivity or serial protocols such as RS 485
- Experience with AWS, especially AWS IoT and AWS IoT Greengrass
