IT Network and Telephony Engineer

Job Summary

Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VoIP systems to ensure seamless operation and optimal performance. Monitor network and voice traffic to proactively identify vulnerabilities, troubleshoot issues, and mitigate cybersecurity incidents in coordination with response protocols. Implement security controls, enforce access segmentation, and conduct periodic audits to safeguard sensitive data and ensure regulatory compliance. Administer call routing, SIP trunks, and telephony gateways while coordinating with vendors to resolve outages and maintain high call quality. Work in a hybrid model in Nashville, TN, with on-site presence required for hardware installation and emergency response.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information security, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in network administration & IT Security
  • 5+ years of experience managing VoIP systems and telephony infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Cisco, or similar networking hardware
  • Experience with firewall management, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint security tools
  • Experience with VoIP systems, including setup, management, and troubleshooting of VoIP infrastructure (e.g., Cisco, RingCentral, Genesys Purecloud, Microsoft Teams Voice)
  • Familiarity with Network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds)
  • Relevant IT certifications
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Sits, stands, bends, and walks
  • Communicates verbally and in writing
  • Lifts and carries loads up to 50 lbs
  • Hybrid work model with a combination of remote and on-site responsibilities, depending on project requirements and system maintenance needs
  • On-site presence required for tasks such as hardware installation, network upgrades, telephony system configuration, and emergency response
  • Standard office conditions when on-site, including extended periods working at a computer
  • May require after-hours availability for critical network and telephony updates or emergency response
  • Must have their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by their potential start date or be able to supply proof of vaccination

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in the healthcare or nonprofit sector is a plus, particularly in a regulated environment such as an OPO
