Job Summary
Provision, configure, and install Cisco switches, routers, and wireless access points while monitoring network performance and traffic to ensure maximum uptime. Diagnose and resolve LAN/WAN connectivity issues, implement security policies including Access Control Lists, and apply regular firmware updates. Maintain accurate topology diagrams, IP schemas, and standard operating procedures. Collaborate with senior engineers on infrastructure upgrades and cloud connectivity initiatives. Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency support. This role requires a Bachelor's degree and four years of experience in network administration or helpdesk with networking responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a dedicated network administration or robust helpdesk/desktop support role with networking responsibilities
- Solid understanding of OSI model, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs
- Experience configuring routing protocols (such as OSPF or EIGRP) and switching concepts (STP, EtherChannel)
- Familiarity with network security fundamentals (Firewalls, VPNs, NAT)
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, Cisco DNA Center/Catalyst Center)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is highly preferred or actively being pursued
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting technical processes
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency support
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship
