Job Summary
IT Manager leads the Information Systems Analyst and Helpdesk teams to ensure effective and reliable delivery of technology services across clinical, business, and operational areas; partners with the IT Director to support enterprise initiatives spanning network, systems, and infrastructure; responsible for service quality, staff development, project execution, vendor coordination, and aligning technology operations with regulatory requirements. Oversees Helpdesk operations, incident management, and ITSM processes; manages installation/support of Health Information System modules and clinical/business applications; coordinates with analysts on complex system issues (HL7 interfaces, reporting); ensures documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures are current; provides after-hours/on-call leadership and contributes to IT roadmap and capacity planning; maintains HIPAA compliance and effective communication with business leaders. Minimum qualifications include a BS/BA and 10+ years of relevant experience, 7+ years in healthcare IT, and 3+ years of leadership; experience with Meditech Expanse or Athena Health Systems and SQL reporting is preferred. The role requires a clinical/enterprise IT focus with the ability to coordinate across Network, Security, and Systems teams and to support ongoing infrastructure changes and project delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ten or more years of relevant experience in healthcare IT or similar environment
- 7 or more years of progressive experience in healthcare IT or similar environment
- 3 or more years of leadership or supervisory experience over technical staff
- Experience supporting ancillary services and core hospital functions
- Experience overseeing helpdesk/service desk operations and ITSM processes
- Familiarity with HL7 messaging and interface translation preferred
- Experience with report writing and SQL query structures and distribution
- Certification, Licenses, and Registrations: Technical or system certifications relevant to an environment leveraging Microsoft, Cisco and VMWare are a bonus
- Experience with Meditech Expanse or Athena Health Systems preferred
- Strong leadership, coaching, conflict-resolution, and team-building skills
- Working knowledge of network, server, and systems concepts sufficient to coordinate effectively with infrastructure teams
- Strong understanding of HIPAA, changement management, and IT general controls
- Physical Demands: ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods; PPE when required
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
