Job Summary
IT Manager to lead the IT function for Longbow/LONG BOWW over two organizations, owning a varied IT estate (cloud, on‐prem, hosted production, end‐user IT) with a hands‐on focus. You’ll drive structure, documentation, and operational maturity, assume responsibility for critical hosted WMS environments, VMware, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, security tooling, and vendor management. The role combines leadership with technical execution across cloud (GCP/AWS/Azure), on‐prem, security, and IT operations, including change/incident management and IT documentation, while collaborating with an executive team and managing budgets. This remote role is based in Toronto, ON with occasional travel to the local data center; On Call rotates with the IT team.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive IT experience
- at least 3 years in a management or team-lead role
- Microsoft technology stack expertise: Active Directory (on-prem and Azure AD), Office 365, Windows Server, SQL Server
- VMware vSphere experience; Proxmox or other virtualization is a plus
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (VMs, networking, IAM, VPN, monitoring, cost management)
- SQL Server administration including high-availability concepts, maintenance plans, backups
- Networking infrastructure experience: firewalls (FortiGate or equivalent), VPN, MSP relationships
- Experience implementing change management, incident management, and IT documentation practices
- Experience managing IT vendor contracts, renewals, and budgets
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to translate risks for executives
- Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands-on technical work
