Job Summary
Lead and oversee local IT operations in Japan for a growing luxury retail business. Act as the primary liaison between local stakeholders and global IT teams, driving IT operations, governance, vendor management, and project delivery to ensure secure, reliable IT infrastructure and alignment with business growth and digital transformation. Manage budgets, procurement, deployment of IT solutions, and local deployment of global initiatives while coordinating with cross-functional teams and external vendors. Maintain IT procedures, standards, and best practices, ensuring compliance with information security and data privacy policies, and support English- and Japanese-speaking business users in a multinational environment.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in an IT Manager, Senior IT Specialist, IT Infrastructure, or similar role
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, systems administration, networking, and end-user support
- Experience managing external vendors and service providers
- Demonstrated project management experience, including successful delivery of business-critical IT projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working directly with regional or global stakeholders in a multinational environment
- Technical Expertise areas including Microsoft Azure, Windows 10/11 environments, Apple hardware and ecosystem, Network administration and troubleshooting, Endpoint and device management, IT security and compliance practices
- Retail technology environments (POS systems, store connectivity) are advantageous
- Fluent English communication skills; native or business-level Japanese proficiency required
