Job Summary
L3 Operations Senior Compute Engineer responsible for managing Azure compute services and on-premises Hyper-V clusters within a hybrid environment. Lead automation and orchestration for deployment, scaling, and management using PowerShell; develop infrastructure-as-code for Azure and Hyper-V; monitor and troubleshoot compute infrastructure; ensure security and compliance; collaborate with cloud architects, network, and security teams; document procedures and stay current with technologies. Requires strong Azure & Hyper-V expertise, Windows Server administration, AD, networking, backup/DR strategies, and scripting with PowerShell; English communication and technical documentation skills; experience with Azure CLI, ARM templates, and CI/CD pipelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years managing compute infrastructure with strong focus on Microsoft technologies
- Deep expertise in managing Hyper-V environments including failover clustering, live migration, and storage management
- Solid understanding of Windows Server administration and networking fundamentals
- Experience in administering and maintaining print server environments, as well as troubleshooting printing‐related issues in Windows environments
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery strategies for both cloud and on-premises environments (preferably in Veeam backup environments)
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to read, understand and create technical documentation
- Very good command of English written and spoken
- Proven experience with Microsoft Azure compute services
- Scripting skills in PowerShell; experience with Azure CLI and ARM templates is highly preferred
- Experience in administering Linux server environments
- Accustomed to using ITSM tools (e.g. BMC Helix)
- Experience of monitoring tools (Site24x7, Grafana, etc.)
- Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and other Azure-native monitoring tools
- Experience with Azure DevOps or other CI/CD pipelines
