Job Summary
Oversee server infrastructure, network connectivity, and power delivery within production and data center environments. Design, implement, and maintain a scalable VMware virtualization environment while leading end-to-end hardware development initiatives from concept through deployment. Execute data center deployments and proactively troubleshoot production issues to ensure high availability, investigating complex hardware and firmware-level failures. Partner with stakeholders and vendors to optimize costs, drive procurement lifecycles, and validate system solutions across Linux and Windows domains. Participate in after-hours on-call rotations to support critical operational incidents.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, engineering or other technical field of study and 3+ years of engineering experience in an enterprise environment; OR 5+ years of engineering experience in an enterprise environment in lieu of a degree
- 2-3 years of professional experience working with enterprise class server infrastructure
- 2-3 years of professional experience managing virtualized server environments
- Willingness and ability to participate in after-hours on-call rotations and provide responsive support for critical operational incidents
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platforms, including tools used to monitor, measure, manage, and control data center utilization and performance
- Industry-recognized certifications in IT infrastructure disciplines, such as CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Network+, or Cisco CCNP
- Proven experience working with diverse hardware vendor architectures in enterprise or large-scale infrastructure environments
- Hands-on experience managing the full lifecycle of large-scale VMware environments, including deployment, optimization, patching, and operational support
- Exposure to board-level hardware design and validation processes, including testing and troubleshooting at the component level
- Strong systems administration experience across both Linux and Windows server operating systems
- Working knowledge of power distribution systems and subsystems within data center environments, including redundancy and resiliency design principles
- Exceptional analytical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex, multi-layered technical issues
