Job Summary
Install, organize, and maintain computer racks, cabinets, and enclosures while routing, terminating, labeling, and testing copper and fiber cabling. Perform rack-level power work, identify basic electrical issues, and create or update rack layouts and cable paths using AutoCAD and Visio. Interpret deployment drawings, floor plans, and schematics to assist with equipment installation and troubleshoot connectivity issues. Coordinate with project managers and engineers to meet project timelines while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. This role supports the SATCOM Program on-site at the Tobyhanna Army Depot.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or eligibility to obtain one
- Proven experience in rack and cable installation for IT, data center, or network environments
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating and/or assisting the deployment with updating technical drawings
- Strong electrical aptitude, particularly in low-voltage and rack-level power systems
- Knowledge of structured cabling standards
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, cable testing tools and labeling systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to lift and move equipment
- Relevant Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university
- 3 years of related experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with federal civilian or DOD personnel
