Job Summary
IT Help Desk Technician at Tactacam supports over 500 employees and contractors across onsite and remote environments. Responsibilities include managing Zendesk tickets, onboarding/offboarding hardware, configuring workstations for onsite and remote users, performing RMA processing and hardware repair, providing Tier 1/2 troubleshooting for Windows, MacBooks, and ChromeOS, creating knowledge base articles, and participating in an on-call rotation. The role requires a balance of strong customer service, detail-oriented asset management, and collaborative teamwork in a fast-paced IT support environment. The position demands early start availability (7:00 AM) and comfort supporting a mixed remote/onsite user base.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field — or equivalent hands-on work experience
- Proven experience in an IT Help Desk, Desktop Support, or similar technical support role
- Proficiency supporting Windows, macOS (MacBooks, iPads), and ChromeOS environments
- Strong hardware skills including hands-on RMA processing and component-level repair
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail for asset management, shipping, troubleshooting, ticket documentation and hardware tracking tasks
- Experience with ticketing systems; Zendesk experience strongly preferred
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Team player mentality and ability to work with mixed remote/on-site end-user base
- Willingness to work an early start (7:00 AM) and participate in on-call rotation
