Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed, and interview vendors to examine IT hardware and prices. Attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences to learn industry trends and make supplier contacts. Analyze price proposals and financial reports to determine reasonable pricing, then negotiate contracts on behalf of the organization. Work out delivery policies with suppliers and meet with staff and vendors to discuss defective goods or determine corrective action. Maintain records of items bought, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories. Ensure vendors comply with contract terms and monitor for necessary changes.
