Job Summary
IT Desktop Support Technician for an enterprise IT service provider; onsite in Houston, TX supporting a major oil and gas customer with L1/L2 IT support. Responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving IT incidents (printer issues, connectivity, software, operating system), installation of peripheral components, AV/VC configuration and problem resolution, software installation and minor remediation, issue ownership and escalation, maintaining documentation, and adherence to company values. Role is a 1099 contract (8 weeks forecasted; potential for extension or move to a W2 role) with minimum 40 hours per week and onsite work only. Requires 1-5+ years of IT Desktop Support experience, a BSc in CS or related field, strong Windows OS knowledge, and proficiency with Microsoft Office/O365; excellent communication and customer-service orientation. Start date 1 July 2026; location Houston, TX.
Required Qualifications
- BSc in Computer Science or relevant field
- 1-5+ years IT Desktop Support experience
- In-depth understanding of Windows desktop operating systems and utilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office & O365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong troubleshooting for smartphones/mobile devices and tablets
- Strong communications skills
- Highly customer focused and self-reliant
- Ability to work well in a team and under pressure
- Onsite work in Houston, TX (Rock Springs, WY mention is project scope per client)
- Eligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
