Job Summary

Design, install, configure, and maintain SQL Server databases across on-premises, clustered, high-availability, and Azure environments. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise database performance while planning and executing upgrades and migrations to maintain data integrity. Develop and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies, implementing security controls and encryption standards. Automate maintenance tasks using T-SQL and provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for incidents. Document configurations and stay current with emerging technologies. Requires 4–6+ years of SQL Server experience, Azure certification, and legal right to work in Australia.

Required Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • 4–6+ years' experience in database administration and support
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration, upgrades, and migrations
  • Proven knowledge of SQL Server clustering and High Availability Groups
  • Experience automating database maintenance using T-SQL and related tools
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent certification
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • All applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have the legal right to work in Australia

Desired Qualifications

  • Azure Data Factory and ETL data processing pipelines
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Dataverse
  • Certifications in Azure, ITIL, or Windows Server technologies
