IT Compliance Specialist I

Job Summary
Monitor conformance to relevant legislations such as Sarbanes-Oxley and generate standards, procedures, and controls to guarantee data system compliance. Act as liaison between IT and Internal or External Auditors during reviews, communicating audit schedules, collecting documentation, and driving validation of general and application controls across corporate and site levels. Facilitate corrective actions to close remediation items, recommend procedural changes to minimize business impact, and serve as the focal point for escalating compliance issues. Perform internal control evaluations, highlight areas posing compliance threats, and drive continuous improvement to streamline processes while maintaining confidentiality of proprietary data.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- Minimum two (2) years experience required in a compliance or audit environment
- preferably facilitating Information Technology compliance and/or audit activities
- Basic understanding of IT related concepts and technologies
- Customer service skills
- effective communication skills – both verbal and written
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions
- Very good presentation skills
- Meticulous attention to details
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with constantly changing priorities and deadlines
- Ability to coordinate work from multiple resources, including remote ones
- Proficiency in use of personal computers
- Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
