IT Business Systems Lead

Job Summary
Lead business systems architecture, manage day-to-day application support, and direct the business-application-support team within IT. Own the intake and prioritization of all systems-related work, translating business needs into technical solutions that improve operational efficiency and decision-making. Partner with Finance, Operations, and Sales to identify improvements, while supporting ERP readiness efforts through process documentation and gap identification. Serve as the primary liaison between business functions and technology resources, coordinating with third-party MSPs and vendors to ensure alignment with service expectations. Manage project backlogs and execute deployments to track impact on financial performance and long-term scalability.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a 4-year degree in related IT field
- 10–15+ years of experience in business systems, ERP, or application-focused IT roles
- Strong understanding of ERP systems
- Prior experience directly managing at least one employee, including setting priorities and conducting performance reviews
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional work through influence, not just formal authority
- Experience managing a project backlog or portfolio of competing priorities
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Experience working cross-functionally with Finance and Operations teams
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Comfortable operating in a lean environment with limited direct reports
- Experience managing third-party vendors or service providers
