Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to drive data-informed decision-making; translate business requirements into meaningful metrics, KPIs, and data models; collaborate with DBAs and data engineers to optimize data pipelines; write and optimize SQL queries across multiple sources; ensure data accuracy and integrity; present insights to leadership and technical/non-technical audiences; prototype, iterate, and improve dashboards based on user feedback; support user adoption through documentation and training; monitor Power BI environments and stay current with BI tools and trends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Power BI, including dashboard design and development
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases
- Demonstrated ability to design visually appealing, user-friendly dashboards that follow data visualization best practices
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, including relationships, star schemas, and ERDs
- Experience translating business questions into data requirements, metrics, and actionable insights
- Proven ability to communicate data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders and support data-driven decision making
- Experience working directly with business users, gathering requirements, and delivering solutions in a collaborative environment
- Working knowledge of Power BI Report Server or Power BI Service administration
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and data accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and evaluate their applicability to business needs
- Experience with data storytelling and presenting insights to executive audiences
- Familiarity with UX/UI principles in dashboard design
- Experience with additional BI or data tools (e.g., Python, DAX optimization, data warehousing concepts)
