Job Summary
IT Assistant supports the IT Director and broader IT functions by assisting with day-to-day operations, project coordination, procurement, asset management, and end-user support. This role is responsible for helping ensure the efficient delivery of IT services while maintaining accurate records and responding promptly to internal requests. Responsibilities include administrative support (scheduling, correspondence, records), IT operations & support (responding to work orders, initial troubleshooting, basic PC/printer support), procurement and vendor coordination (ordering IT equipment, tracking deliveries), project support (planning/executing IT projects), asset management (inventory, tagging, audits), financial/administrative duties (invoices, expense reports, documentation), general IT support (documentation, process improvements), technical assistance (basic troubleshooting and escalation), documentation (process/user guides), coordination of IT-related projects/audits (software installations, upgrades), training (organizing/delivering training), and security compliance (access controls, backups, antivirus). This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent (IT-related degree preferred), strong organizational and communication skills, basic hardware/software knowledge, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with IT service management tools is a plus. The position reports to the IT Office Manager and ultimately feeds into IT leadership.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field preferred
- Proven experience in administrative support roles, preferably in an IT environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Customer service oriented
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other common business applications
- Familiarity with IT service management tools (e.g., help desk software) is a plus
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
